2017 Winter Registration Begins!

Date: December 2, 2016

The Teaneck Recreation Department provides a warm respite from winter's chilly weather with a full program of recreational activities for residents ages 18 months to 54 years. The winter programs are scheduled to begin the week of January 9th.

For our youngest residents 18 months to 4 years of age, the department offers Creative Dance, Creative Movement, Junior Bowling, Kinderkraft, Kindergym, Toddlekins, and Zumba Kids classes. These classes provide a wonderful opportunity for our youngest residents to learn basic socialization skills. Individual classes are designed to focus on the development of specific skills such as balance and coordination, the enhancement of fine motor skills and creativity, as well as provide an introduction to the wonderful worlds of dance and art.

Residents 5 to 17 years of age can turn off the television and join their friends and neighbors in participating in a variety of programs including Arts and Crafts, Ballet, Chess, Classical Painting, Creative Dance, Drama, Fun with Ping Pong, Hip Hop, Ice Skating, Indoor Tennis, Junior Bowling, Karate, "My Funny Side" Caricature, Pottery, Primary Picassos, Tap Dance, Teen Night, Theater Dance, and Zumba Kids. Additionally, the department offers an open gym basketball program on days the Teaneck Public Schools have half-day sessions as well as during school recess.
