Subject: TEANECK RECREATION DEPARTMENT SPRING 2017 REGISTRATION BEGINS
April showers bring May flowers along with our spring lineup! The Teaneck Recreation Department is pleased to announce our full schedule of fun and structured quality programs for residents starting at 18 months and going up to 54 years. The spring classes are scheduled to begin the week of April 17, 2017.
Our spring brochure, as well as individual program flyers will be available starting March 6, 2017. Residents are encouraged to visit the information table located in the lobby of the Richard Rodda Community Center; 250 Colonial Court at the south end of Votee Park from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Please note that the brochure will also be available on our website at www.teanecknj.gov.
Creative Dance, Creative Movement, KinderKraft, Kindergym, Toddlekins, and Zumba Kids classes are offered for children from 18 months to 5 years of age (some exceptions). These classes provide a wonderful opportunity for our youngest residents to learn basic socialization skills. Individual classes are designed to focus on the development of specific skill sets such as balance and coordination, the enhancement of fine motor skills and creativity, as well as, provide an introduction to the wonderful world of dance and art.
Residents 5 to 17 years of age can turn off the television and join their friends and neighbors in participating in a variety of programs including Ballet, Classical Painting, Creative Dance, Drama, Fencing, Fun with Ping-Pong, Hip-Hop, Horseback Riding, Ice-Skating, Karate, “My Funny Side” Caricature, Pottery, Primary Picassos, Sculpt It, Spring Break Camp, Tap Dance, Theater Dance, Tennis Lessons, and Zumba Kids. Additionally, our department offers an Open Gym basketball program on days that the Teaneck Public Schools have half-day sessions and during school recess.
Adult class offerings for the spring include Ballroom Dancing, Golf, Horseback Riding, Pottery, Slow Flow Yoga, Tennis Lessons, Zumba, and Zumba Toning. Additionally, we offer Coed Open Gym Basketball and Soccer programs during week nights.
We will begin accepting mail-in/drop-box registration on Monday, March 13, 2017. The drop-box is located in the main lobby of the Rodda Center. All applications will be processed on a first come, first serve basis. Beginning March 27, 2017 walk-in registration will be accepted for all available program openings. During this time, non-resident adults are welcome to come register for programs that are not yet full.
