Teaneck Farmer's Market Swings Into a Full Season

Date: June 15, 2017

We’ve been opened for almost a month, but this week all our farmers and vendors will be with you, to continue our quest, for “Terrific Thursdays at the Teaneck Farmers’ Market.” Located at the Garrison Avenue and Beverly Road parking lot, from Noon to 6 PM.

We had a successful week with our annual Blood Drive. Our partners Holy Name Medical Center’s for Healthy Living screened many for blood pressure. In addition Neil the Knife Sharpener was busy honing knives, scissors and garden tools at his stand. The trainers from The Glenpointe Spa and Fitness Center came, providing valuable tips of healthy eating and exercises.

Our market still has your old-time favorites, and this week everyone is joining us. After a long winter, we now have Stoltzfus Produce and The Amish Country Bakery is returning this week, along with Pure Potential Power Juices.

If you’ve already visited the market, you’ve seen: Richard Sunden’s Stone Pointe Farm, New Jersey Bees, Hoboken Farms, Picklelicious, Nana’s Home Cooking, Angela Logan’s Mortgage Apple Cakes, Gourmet Nuts and Dried Fruits. New this season is: Keto-to-Go specially developed foods for different dietary needs, and Nature Has Flavor with their line of olive oils, vinegars, spices and cookbooks.

Mark down on your calendars for July:

• July 6th is the return of Neil the Knife Sharpener.

• July 13th for eligible senior citizens, they can sign-up for The Bergen County Senior Farmer’s Market Nutritional from Noon to 3 PM.

• July 13th starting at 3:30 and going until 4:45 PM kids and the young at heart can join our summertime children’s programming. Arts Horizon’s puppeteer, Rebecca Migdal, created a cute puppet show with farm animals. Children are encouraged to dress-up in costumes, and bring something to sit on during the performance. Join our community partnership, with The Teaneck Creek Conservancy for of arts and crafts. We’ll have a face painter, for a small fee.

We’re continuing our Frequent Shopping Rewards program this year, so pickup a card and after ten visits to our market, you’ll receive Farmer’s Market money valued at $5, to be used at your favorite stand. We also have our free shopping bags, so you can use it to carry what you’ve bought. After the market ends in the summer, try free dancing or Zumba, at the Chestnut Avenue Plaza, from 7 to 7:45 PM. Listen to WFDU’s 89.1 FM radio station for announcements too. We’d love you to join us so check out our website: www.cedarlane.net or call: 201-907-0493. See our Facebook page for up-to-date postings and newly created newsletter: www.teaneckfarmersmarket.com

We have it covered for unique farm-fresh produce, and different tasting experiences every Thursday, now to October 26th.
