2012 Teaneck Greenfest
|Date:||April 29, 2012|
The members of the Shade Tree Advisory Board, the Teaneck Advisory Commission on Sustainability and the Garden Club of Teaneck Greenhouse Committee cordially invite you to attend the first Teaneck Greenfest celebration on Sunday April 29th from 2-4 pm (rain or shine) at the Teaneck Greenhouse located at the foot of Lindbergh Blvd. This event, sponsored by the above mentioned groups, plans to educate the public on becoming "green" and helping the environment. There will be displays on sustainability, recycling, gardening, various give-aways, arts & crafts for children (leaf rubbings, planting a flower in a paper pot to take home), a short storytime and the opportunity to help plant a vegetable garden where the produce will be donated to the Helping Hands food pantry. There will tours of the Greenhouse and the surrounding Community Gardens. Residents will also have the chance to win a Teaneck recycling can.
The highlight of the afternoon will be Teaneck's Arbor Day celebration. This event will take place at 2:30 pm. As always, there will be a limited number of tree seedlings for the residents.
The Teaneck Greenfest will be an event for the entire family! For further information you may contact me by return email or at 201-837-6519. We hope to see you there on April 29th!
