 Faulkner Act
(OMCL) Council - Manager

NJSA:40:69A-115 et. seq.

COUNCIL
Exercises legislative power of the municipality. Appoints the Municipal Manager and Municipal clerk.

ADMINISTRATION
Manager is chief executive and administrative official of municipality. Prepares budget. Appoints and removes department heads. Attends Council meetings with voice, but no vote.

Council Election

2nd Tuesday in May. There are 7 Council members, elected at large. They serve 4 year staggered terms. The next election will be May 11,2010 for 4 seats.

Organization of Governing Body

Coucil reorganizes every July 1st. Council selects the Mayor and Deputy Mayor. At the reorganization meeting, Council appoints the Municipal Attorney, Municipal Prosecutor, and class I and II members of the Planning Board. At that time Council adopts the meeting schedule for the rest of the year.
