Where can I get the Recycling and Garden Debris Collection Schedule?
It is available on the Township web site and can be pick up from the Public Works offices located on the second floor of the Municipal Building. We can also send it to you by calling (201) 837-1600 ext. 1727.
2) What items are collected at curbside for Recycling?
Commingled glass, aluminum, metal cans, plastic containers and newspaper. All plastic containers must have the numbers 1 or 2 inside the recycling symbol which is usually found at the bottom of the container. Glass, aluminum, cans, and plastic may be placed in the same container, no larger then 32 gallon in size with handles and not weighing more then 50 pounds. Newspaper must be tied into bundles with string, no more than 12 inches in height.
3) Is there another location I can drop off recyclables?
Recyclables can also be drop off at the Township's Recycling Center. It is located at 1600 River Road.
4) When is the Recycling Center open?
Thursday through Monday except Township holidays. The center is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and Township holidays.
5) What are the hours of the Recycling Center?
7:00am to 2:45pm on the days it is open.
6) When does leaf season start?
The day after Columbus Day. This year it starts on October 13th.
7) When is the last day I can rake out my leaves to the curb?
December 6th is the last day you can rake out leaves.
8) Does the Township accept white goods?
Yes it does at the Recycling Center. Refrigerators must be drained of freon and the Township does not accept air conditions and boilers.
9) Who is responsible for sidewalks along the curb?
The property owner in which the sidewalk abuts.
10) Do I need a permit to replace sidewalks along the curb?
Yes. If you are having a contractor replacing the sidewalks, they will be required to obtain the permit. Contractors are also to be licensed with the Township to do concrete work in the public right of way.
