A Department For All Seasons

The Public Works Department or DPW is responsible for maintenance of public areas and facilities of the Township. The DPW endeavors to maintain  the communities' cleanliness, safety and aesthetic appearance through execution of proactive and preventative maintenance programs and is responsible for recycling collection, maintaining The Township of Teaneck buildings, all Township owned vehicles, parks, roadways, sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems, along with other Township properties.

I am extremely proud of the men and women of the Department of Public Works.  On a daily basis, the employees of the Public Works Department endeavor to provide a first class service to the Township and its residents.  The hard working employees are responsible for many important aspects that our residents may not be aware of.  Whether clearing the streets of snow, leaf removal, maintaining the many parks and playgrounds, over 20,000 trees, hundreds of miles of sanitary and storm sewer lines, building maintenance, or maintaining a fleet of vehicles for Police, Fire, Recreation and of course the Public Works Department, the employees have a hefty workload.  Despite their seemingly never ending amount of work, the dedicated employees of the DPW always work to their fullest ability while maintaining a professional environment
