Founded in 1995, the Shade Tree Advisory Board focuses on the welfare, maintenance, and planting of street tress; STAB is the sponsor of Arbor Day and contributor to the Community Forest Plan. The STAB is tasked with the stewardship of the "Township Canopy"

On a splendid autumn Thursday, the Shade Tree Advisory Board (STAB), the Department of Public Works and guests gathered in the town's Votee Park and celebrated National Arbor Day later than the usual spring planting because of the Covid pandemic.

The Program consisted of planting a weeping cherry; a reading aloud of a Welcome, the Proclamation, and a list of Benefits of Trees.

HOW MANY MUNICIPAL TREES ARE THERE IN TEANECK? 

Roughly 20,000; the number changes monthly.
