The most recent wind storm brought down several trees and branches throughout town. Because of that, I have directed the Department of Public Works to conduct one final town wide cleanup to clear our streets of any remaining storm debris. This work will commence on Monday, January 4th. This includes all Christmas tree pickup.
Residents MUST follow garden debris guidelines. Any remaining grass, leaves and small plant material must be placed in non-disposable containers or biodegradable paper bags weighing no more that 50 pounds each. Branches or shrubs must be cut into lengths no greater than 4 feet and tied into bundles weighing less than 50 pounds. Branches or logs 4 inches in width or greater will not be picked up as they will damage equipment.
Pickup in Zones 1 & 2 will take place on Monday, January 4th. Pickup in Zones 3 & 4 on Tuesday, January 5th. Pickup in Zones 5 & 6 on Wednesday, January 6th. Pickup in Zones 7 & 8 on Thursday, January 7th.
Storm and garden debris can also be brought to the recycling depot Friday through Sunday from 7:00 am to 2:45 pm.
Please refer to the Township's recycling calendar or website for more information on the proper disposal of garden debris, and zone designation. The 2021 Recycling Calendar was mailed to all residents last week. If you have not received one, please contact the Township Clerk's Office at 201-837-1600 ext. 1028.
After a year full of challenges, I want to extend my best wishes to everyone for a happy, healthy and safe New Year. Working together in unity and solidarity will make Teaneck an even stronger community in 2021.
