2026 Dog License Renewal Notification

The Teaneck Health Department would like to remind dog owners that current dog licenses expire on December 31st.  Dog owners have until February 28, 2026 to renew their dog licenses without any penalty.  The fee is $12 for spayed/neutered and $15 for non-spayed/non-neutered.  As of March 1, 2026, a $15 late fee will be added.

NOTE:  Three-Year Dog Licenses are available at a fee of $36.00 for Spayed/Neutered and $45.00 for Non-Spayed/Non-Neutered.

Residents who have new dogs or who need renewal applications may obtain one by calling 201-837-1600 (x 1500) or online on the SDL Portal.

Renewal applications will mailed out during the month of December.

Per NJ State guidelines rabies shots must be valid through November 1, 2026 for a 1-Year License and through November 1, 2028 for a 3-Year License.

Free rabies shots can be arranged through the Bergen Veterinary Hospital at (201) 837-3470, or the Bergen County Animal Shelter at 201-229-4600 (call for available clinic dates).
