Notice is hereby given that the following ordinance was introduced and passed upon first reading at a meeting of the Governing Body of the Township of Teaneck, in the County of Bergen, State of New Jersey, October 6, 2026. It will be further considered for final passage, after the Public Hearing thereon, at a meeting of the Governing Body to be held be held at the Municipal Building Council Chambers, 818 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, New Jersey and facilitated on ZOOM October 27, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.

During the week prior to and up to and including the date of such meeting, copies of the full ordinance will be available at no cost and during regular business hours, at the Township Clerk’s Office for the members of the general public who shall request the same.  The title and summary of the terms of such ordinance are as follows:

NOTICE OF PENDING ORDINANCE

The ordinance, the title of which is published herewith, was introduced and adopted upon first reading at a regular meeting of the Township Council of the Township of Teaneck, in the County of Bergen, State of New Jersey (the “Township”), held on October 6, 2026, and will be further considered for final passage, after public hearing thereon, at a regular meeting of the Township Council of the Township to be held on October 27, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Township’s Municipal Building, 818 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, New Jersey 07666. Information regarding remote access to the meeting may be found on the Township’s website at www.teanecknj.gov.

The purpose of this ordinance is to authorize a special emergency appropriation in an amount not to exceed $800,000 to fund the cost of contractually required severance liabilities resulting from the layoff and/or retirement of employees of the Township.A copy of said ordinance may be obtained from the Office of the Clerk of the Township during regular municipal office hours at the Township’s Municipal Building, 818 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, New Jersey 07666.
