National Mosquito Control Awareness Week

It's National Mosquito Control Awareness week!  Any container that holds water can be a home for mosquito larvae. After 7 days, larvae will emerge as adult mosquitoes. Use these tips to reduce the mosquito population, stop their bite before their flight!

Check for these common items in your yard and get rid of stagnant water:

  • Garbage cans
  • Tarps, plastic bags and sheets
  • Gutters and downspout extensions
  • Decks and porches
  • Planters and saucers
  • Wheelbarrows
  • Watering Cans
  • Rain barrels
  • Bird baths
  • Ornamental ponds
  • Tires
  • Portable basketball hoops
  • Kiddie pools and sand boxes
  • Big toys and wagons
  • Boats and jet skis
  • Untreated pools and covers
