TEANECK TOWNSHIP, a diverse community of 40,000 residents with a municipal court staff of six, is soliciting requests for resumes from interested persons for the position of Alternate Judge of Municipal Court ($450/per session). This position is an Unclassified Municipal Employee position and compensation is in accordance with Sec. 2-48 of the Township Code. Attorneys who are New Jersey residents and have practiced law for at least five years will be considered for a one-year non-tenured term as Alternate Judge of the Municipal Court by the governing body and in accordance with N.J.S.A. 2B:12-5. Successful candidates are subject to approval by the Assignment Judge of Bergen County, and being sworn in by a Superior Court Judge. Interested persons must send a cover letter and resume to Jaclyn M. On March 5, Teaneck Township sent an email announcing a six month pilot compost program at no cost to residents. The maximum of 75 pilot composter households to pilot the program was met within less than 24 hours! The pilot program will run from April 27-October 27, 2025. All pilot participants should have received an email sent March 7 from the Neighborhood Compost Team with details about the program, including when and where to pick up your free home compost buckets and eco liners.
If you missed the opportunity to be part of the pilot program, please send an email to envcomm@teanecknj.gov. with your name, address and phone number and we will add you to the waitlist for the next phase of the Teaneck Compost Program (exact date TBD).
Municipal Towing Licenses Expire February 1st each Year at Midnight - Applications Available on Website

All 2024 licenses (noted below) issued by the Teaneck Health Department expire at the end of day on December 31st. Businesses, managing agents, landlords, residents and others who need to renew their licenses for 2025 must do so by January 31, 2025 to avoid any penalty. Applications will be mailed at the end of December to the address on record.

The Teaneck Health Department would like to remind dog owners that current dog licenses expire on December 31st. Dog owners have until February 28, 2025 to renew their dog licenses without any penalty. The fee is $12 for spayed/neutered and $15 for non-spayed/non-neutered. As of March 1, 2025, a $15 late fee will be added.

Individuals may begin coming into the Town Hall Monday, December 9, 2024 to purchase the 2025 decals.
Friday, February 14, 2025 will begin enforcement for the 2025 decals.
