Township of Teaneck Awarded $1.125 Million in NJDEP Grant Funds for Major Park Improvements

• 750,000 for Inclusive Playground Improvements at Votee Park, aimed at expanding accessibility and inclusivity for children of all abilities.
• $375,000 for Restroom and Splash Pad Improvements at Argonne Park, enhancing facilities to better serve families and park visitors.

There is a donation bin located in the Town Hall South Entrance - 818 Teaneck Road - that will be accepting offerings of non-perishable food from April 15 - May 15 that will be provided directly to Never Alone Again Resource Center. Anything you can offer is helpful! Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-515pm. Tuesdays until 7pm.

At Teaneck High School in the 3rd Floor Student Center, Wednesday, April 2 6-8PM - 

Join the Teaneck Youth Advisory Board for their annual Civics Event to meet local officials, learn how local government works, enjoy food & drink with fellow students and neighbors, and participate for a chance to win one of the raffle prizes!

The pilot program will run from April 27-October 27, 2025. All pilot participants should have received an email sent March 7 from the Neighborhood Compost Team with details about the program, including when and where to pick up your free home compost buckets and eco liners. If you missed the opportunity to be part of the pilot program, please send an email to envcomm@teanecknj.gov. with your name, address and phone number and we will add you to the waitlist for the next phase of the Teaneck Compost Program (exact date TBD).

Background

H5N1, also known as “bird flu,” is a disease caused by influenza A viruses, and is carried and
spread by wild birds. While bird flu primarily affects poultry and other birds, the virus can also
infect cattle, other animals, and humans. Currently, bird flu is widespread in wild birds globally,
causing outbreaks in poultry and dairy cows. While the risk of bird flu infection remains low for
the general public, the Teaneck Health Department continues to collaborate with state and
federal agencies to monitor and respond to any developments.
