Training Bureau Secretary (Keyboarding Clerk 1)
Police Dept. | Full Time
The Township of Teaneck is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as the Training Bureau Secretary within the Teaneck Police Department.
This position is responsible for coordinating and maintaining training records for sworn and civilian personnel, processing training requests, maintaining state-mandated certifications and databases, assisting with purchasing and vendor coordination, and providing administrative support to the Service Division.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to manage projects simultaneously, excellent computer and communication skills, and the ability to maintain accurate and confidential records.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and track employee training requests and related documentation.
- Maintain departmental training records, files, certifications, and compliance documentation.
- Manage and update departmental training databases and electronic record systems.
- Coordinate registration for training courses, seminars, conferences, and certifications.
- Maintain records of mandatory training and recertification requirements for sworn and civilian personnel.
- Monitor training opportunities and distribute training notifications to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with preparation and processing of purchase orders, training registrations, invoices, and related financial documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors, training providers, county academies, and state agencies regarding training programs.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for training-related records.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, spreadsheets, and other administrative documents related to training operations.
- Assist with scheduling and tracking specialized training programs and departmental certifications.
- Provide administrative support for departmental initiatives, special projects, and events as assigned.
- Perform additional clerical and administrative duties as directed by supervisory personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in administrative, clerical, records management, or office support work preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with database management and electronic record systems preferred.
- Familiarity with law enforcement, municipal government, or public safety operations preferred.
- Experience maintaining training records, personnel records, accreditation records, compliance databases, or similar administrative tracking systems is highly desirable.

- Full-time, in-person position located at Teaneck Police Headquarters.

- Salary Range: $41,930 - $59091 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

Recreation Supervisor
Recreation Dept. | Full Time
- Prepares and distributes marketing materials including flyers, brochures, website content and other media communications
- Knowledge of state licensing requirements for youth camps
- Tracks and provides payroll information for staff members in each pay period
- Coordinate event logistics with Police, DPW, IT, and vendors
- Manage program budgets, revenue tracking, and financial reporting
- Purchases materials, supplies and equipment in accordance with Township policies
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, permits, and insurance requirements
- Build relationships with community organizations, sponsors, and partners
- Respond to public inquiries and resolve issues professionally
- Prepare reports and correspondence for the Superintendent

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Marketing or related field OR minimum of two (2) years relevant experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel

- Experience in event planning and staff supervision preferred
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

The Township of Teaneck is seeking to fill one full-time position for the title of Parking Enforcement Officer. Under direction, the PEO patrols designated areas and issues summonses for motor vehicles to enforce state, county, or municipal statutes, resolutions, and ordinances for regulations related to the parking of motor vehicles within the municipality.
Minimum Requirements
- Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey to perform the essential duties of the position
- The candidate should have knowledge of problems involved in parking violations or the procedures used in dealing with such problems

Tree Climber
Public Works Dept. | Full Time
The Township of Teaneck is seeking a qualified Tree Climber to join our Department of Public Works. This is a full-time position responsible for tree maintenance and removal throughout the township.
Responsibilities:

Perform tree climbing, pruning, and removal using ropes, harnesses, and aerial lifts.

Key Responsibilities
Contractor Management & Oversight

Fire Inspector
Fire Prevention Bureau | Part Time
The Township of Teaneck is currently seeking applicants for a Part-Time Fire Inspector in the Fire Prevention Bureau.
Under the direction of the Fire Official, the Fire Inspector (Fire Prevention Specialist) conducts fire inspections of buildings and premises to identify and eliminate fire hazards, enforce the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code, and educate the public on fire safety practices. Work includes initial and follow-up inspections, report writing, code enforcement, and collaboration with other departments and the public.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Verify operability of fire alarms, suppression systems, and egress pathways

Issue violation notices, penalty orders, and follow through on enforcement
