Shade Tree Advisory Board
Founded in 1995, the Shade Tree Advisory Board focuses on the welfare, maintenance, and planting of street tress; STAB is the sponsor of Arbor Day and contributor to the Community Forest Plan. The STAB is tasked with the stewardship of the "Township Canopy"

Treat your tree with love and affection
Your tree's best friend is properly applied mulch which
- insulates soil
- retains moisture
- keeps out weeds
- prevents soil compaction
- reduces mower damage
- adds an aesthetic touch
Remove all grass and weeds from the mulch area of 3 to 10 feet wide (depending on the size of your tree), then cover it with about three inches of your mulch--bark, wood chips, straw, etc.
Do not touch mulch to tree bark. Do not make a volcano.
